Kylian Mbappé, Paris Saint-Germain’s forward, has accepted responsibility for the club’s Champions League exit on Tuesday.
Their semi-final match against Borussia-Dortmund ended 2-0 on aggregate after they lost 1-0 in front of their home fans in the second leg.
Mbappe has admitted that the result was due to missed opportunities, some of which came from him.
In the second leg, the Ligue 1 champions had nearly 70% possession and took 30 shots, hitting the woodwork four times.
“I did my best to assist my team, but I did not go far enough.”
“When we talk about being efficient in the boxes, I believe I am the target. I’m the guy who should score goals and be decisive.
“When things are going well, I get all the attention; when they aren’t, you have to take the back seat. That’s not a problem.
“The first one who should have scored tonight was me. That is life, and me and the team must move on,” Mbappé said after the game at Parc des Princes.
