The England international had a high-profile spat with Ten Hag during the first half of the 2023-24 season.
Sancho was notably absent from the squad’s Premier League match against Arsenal in early September, and Ten Hag claimed that the ex-Manchester City youngster was left out due to poor training performances.
The forward took to social media to insist that this was not the case, claiming that he had been made “a scapegoat.” After refusing to apologise for his outburst, the 24-year-old was removed from the first-team picture.
Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January and has helped the Bundesliga giants reach the Champions League final this season.
Jadon Sancho wants to leave Manchester United this summer.
The attacker has made 18 appearances for BVB since his return, scoring three goals and assisting three times, and the German club wants to keep him this summer.
Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has stated that the Champions League finalists will “do anything” to re-sign the Englishman on a permanent basis.
“We will try everything to keep Jadon Sancho here. However, Manchester United is aware of how well he is currently performing. Perhaps they want to sell him for a profit or bring him back. We will see,” Kehl told Die Welt when asked about the forward.
Man United are not thought to be willing to let him leave on a cheap deal, and Sancho still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag “set to be sacked this summer”
According to reports, the forward could return to his parent club for the 2024-25 season if Ten Hag is fired as head coach.
The Red Devils are rumored to be planning to replace Ten Hag with Thomas Tuchel from Bayern Munich once the current season is over.
However, according to talkSPORT, Sancho has stated that he does not want to play for Manchester United again, even if the manager changes this summer.
Since joining the 20-time English champions from Dortmund in the summer of 2021, the forward has scored 12 goals and assisted six times in 82 appearances.
Sancho first played for Dortmund between 2017 and 2021 before moving to Old Trafford in a big-money deal, but he has yet to show his best form in English football.
